on the boards: National Museum of Qatar

The proposal for the National Museum of Qatar by French architect Jean Nouvel embodies the ambitions of the state to develop into the cultural hub of the Gulf. The 430,000 ft2 museum reminiscent of a desert rose with its sonorous cocoons appears to both emerge from the sand yet be one with it.

Very interesting concept for this important Museum!

lovely, and finally a building where a light exterior actually makes sense given the extreme desert heat
