Vernacular African Architecture Residency

The NKA Foundation is inviting participation in a Design-Build Residency programme focussed on African Vernacular Architecture.

The proposed project is located in Sang a rural township in Northern Ghana, 50 km from Tamale. The project will comprise of a number of buildings that make up the Sang Arts Village and will incorporate local labor, earth and other materials from the environment. Specifically, the construction process and materials is vernacular involving cob, natural plaster, and grass thatching.
